 The Ninth Development Plan covering the period 2007- 2013 has been prepared with an education vision of Turkey which will enable social development. The plan aims to enhance and strengthen the education system based on the principles of efficient, accessible and equal opportunities with the purpose of increasing quality in the education system. 
· Total annual expenditures for basic education are estimated to be in the order of US$3 billion annually;
· 3.7% of GDP is on education spending.
· In 2014, the number of schools in Turkey depending on their level of education was recorded as follows: number of primary schools 28.532, number of junior high schools 17.019, number of secondary schools 10.955 and the number of students in secondary education 5.4 million.
· According to the recent figures, the number of private schools in Turkey is 1.396 and the number students enrolled in private schools is 662.000. The number of vocational schools in Turkey is 416 and the number of students enrolled is 4.373
· Both private and public universities are under the auspices of YOK (Council of Higher Education) There are currently 123 public universities and 73 foundation (private) universities in Turkey. More than half of private universities are in Istanbul but public universities have greater geographic reach.
· Considering the Turkish Governments’ ambition towards improving the quality of Education in Turkey and the boosting number of private schools and foundation universities in Turkey, there are opportunities for UK companies offering Educational Resources.
